So thankful for Marcie! She has been a blessing to our family since we met her. I wish we would have known we needed a doula for our first two births - our outcomes may have been different. I found Marcie when I was pregnant with my 3rd and looking for support in having an unmedicated VBAC. My 2nd was an emergency c section after we discovered she was breach and my water had broken. Marcie helped me prepare for my 3rd birth by preparing a birth plan and providing me the support and encouragement. My 3rd was also breach but Marcie helped by providing her expertise in spinning babies and attending my ECV. She supported me through a stressful, long labor with the on call Dr I didn't like. I am not sure the VBAC would have happened without her support and encouragement. She has so much experience. When I got pregnant with our 4th I didn't hesitate to contact her! At times I wasn't sure what the purpose of our early calls leading up to the birth were for since we had discussed them already with Baby #3, but I trusted her expertise. Unknowing to me, she was helping me emotionally process and let go of some of the baggage from the previous three births so that I could relax and prepare for birth #4. And what a redemptive birth experience it was. I think the preparation, processing and support she provided helped me to let go of the tension, fears and worries and actually relax so that I was able to have an unmedicated birth.

If you want someone with a vast amount of experience; calm, confident demeanor; who is there to support your husband in being involved; can help you stick to your birth plan with pushy hospital staff or when you doubt yourself; will pray for you during your pregnancy and birth; and especially if you are considering a VBAC, or had a difficult previous birth I wouldn't hesitate to ask Marcie to attend your birth!
