Teresa has been a wonderful part of our care team and support network. From the beginning we found all of our prepartum sessions to be informative, affirmative, and inclusive towards our family-building choices and values. We never felt steered to make any particular choices with our birth plan. The written and visual resources she provided were very helpful along with a great recommendation for a particular birthing class. Teresa was always accessible and she helped us through some late-night decision-making during a stressful scare that required a 24-hour hospital stay at 24 weeks. Leading up to and during birth we really appreciated her balanced approach of listening and following our cues but also taking initiative and jumping in at just the right moments. She provided guidance that allowed us to be a parternship the way we imagined during labor. It is not hyperbole when we say we don't know how the delivery of our baby would have gone without her in the room. The labor was precipitous and the hospital team was not reading the signs of transitioning from active labor to pushing. Teresa was the only one in the room picking up on these signals and the hospital staff got into position to catch the baby, who arrived in a few minutes, only upon her insistance. Without Teresa's attention, intuition, and experience it is possible that birth may have gone very differently. There were some complications after delivery that resulted in a less-than-positive experience with the hospital, and Teresa's care continued beyond birth in helping us process and address this experience. We wholeheartedly recommend Teresa to be a member of your team.
