Dawn was an absolute dream to work with and certainly is responsible for a huge part of why I have such a positive association with my birth experience. My birth itself did not go "as planned" but I think the fact that I felt so supported by Dawn and so advocated for by Dawn along every step of the way meant I never doubted that my agency was being protected and I could relax into the birth experience.
I was also grateful for the fact that Dawn's approach is evidence-based, ethical, and individualized. She is skeptical about the elements of big corporate medicine that deserve skepticism without denying the importance of scientific fact. My birth went from a home birth to a hospital birth by choice and the entire time I knew Dawn was in my corner, supporting my right to choose what I wanted to do and without judgement or dogma.
I have recommended Dawn to more expectant parents than I can count and the only problem has been that there is only one of her and i wish there were more Dawns so everyone could work with her!
