After seeing numerous rave reviews online, my husband and I reached out to Heidy when we found out that I may not be able to have an epidural due to past scoliosis surgery when I was a teenager. When I found this out, I felt I needed a support person in addition to my husband just in case I were to have to give birth unmedicated. I reached out to Heidy, and from our first virtual meeting was so impressed with her experience, knowledge, and understanding nature. I was comforted when she told me she had worked with several other clients who had had scoliosis surgery. We booked Heidy right away!
The virtual meetings with Heidy and access to her via email/text were invaluable throughout my pregnancy. She answered my millions of questions and provided so many resources. Working with Heidy shifted my whole mindset around birth and even unexpectedly made me excited at the possibility of having an unmedicated birth.
On the day of my birth, Heidy came over and was an absolute angel. I knew I wanted to labor at home as long as possible before going to the hospital, and she helped me figure out different labor positions, she provided massage therapy, and she coached me through every contraction. She made sure I stayed hydrated and comfortable the entire time. When it was time to go to the hospital, she was our biggest advocate. My birth was everything I wanted it to be thanks to Heidy! I had such a positive experience and ended up with a wonderful unmedicated birth.
Her house visits pre- and post- birth were also so helpful. Especially the visit after giving birth. We had so many questions about our new baby and she is such a wealth of information and experience. She helped me figure out how to use my breast pump and helped with breastfeeding advice too. I wish I had her around every day!
