Michelle’s presence at my birth made such a profound difference in my experience. This was my second birth and the first one went very well with a vagina delivery. The second time around, I needed a c-section due to a short umbilical cord (found out during surgery). I had never envisioned needing a c-section and the entire ordeal could have been overwhelming and traumatic. However, Michelle made the entire environment one that was focus on my wellbeing and she was the emotional rock for both me and my husband. Throughout everything, I felt supported, heard and genuinely cared for. Looking at my second birth, I feel gratitude and peace — two things I don’t think I would have felt if Michelle wasn’t by our side.
Michelle has a gift and brings her heart and soul into the birthing room. We interviewed other doulas but felt some treat it as a transaction/business. Michelle treated my birth as a sacred time and laughed and cried with me throughout. I am forever grateful for her involvement in bringing my son into this world!
