Susannah was more amazing than words could describe and I could have anticipated. I would NOT have had the beautiful, seamless unmedicated birth that I had without her. She collaborated so well with my doctor and other care team members and held my hand through every contraction. She knew exactly how to support me - with hip squeezes or suggestions to change positions or words. When I'd say over and over again "I can't do this anymore" she'd remind me that I was doing it. I never felt alone and I always felt I had an advocate taking immense attention, care and energy to make sure my baby and I were okay. When an inexperienced doctor was trying to put in a catheter and failing, she asked for someone else. When I was struggling to push, she gave me small words of guidance. She very confidently and calmly stood up for what was right and what I needed in the moment. My husband was there the whole time but it was susannah's calm and poise throughout the entire night that really got me through it. She is forever a part of our family! And postpartum it was so lovely to have her visit our family, give us some guidance and thoughts, and bring us a beautiful gift. We are so grateful for Susannah and would book her immediately if we ever planned on another child.
