We attended the Body Ready Workshop, I used the Body Ready Method program throughout pregnancy, and we had Joann as our doula for the birth of our first baby. We could not be happier with our experience, the workshop and Body Ready program helped us feel prepared and I was able to continue regular exercise and daily activities with minimal to no discomfort throughout my entire pregnancy. As a Physical Therapist I knew how important it was to prepare my body for the birthing process and with Joann’s guidance I feel I did as well as I could have. I had a goal of a natural low intervention birth and while the birth didn’t go exactly as we planned and hoped I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Joanne helped me get through hours of severe back labor pain before I chose to use an epidural. Even with the epidural her guidance on position changes was instrumental in labor progressing quickly. And with her guidance my husband felt he could be more supportive and involved during labor as well. I said it multiple times during labor and after but I don’t know how anyone gives birth without a doula, I would recommend Joann’s services many times over. We have a healthy baby girl and would definitely use Joann as our doula with any future pregnancies!
