I cannot recommend Doula Gio highly enough. She made one of the most important moments of our lives feel supported, empowering, and beautiful. Her care went far beyond what we expected. She is knowledgeable, calming, practical, and deeply gifted at what she does. We are endlessly grateful for her.
Delivery. Gio was incredible throughout labor. She helped me manage pain by guiding my breathing through every contraction, keeping me calm, focused, and strong. She also knew exactly how to support each phase of labor—moving me at the right times to the Pilates ball, the bathtub, and different positions that helped everything progress naturally and smoothly.
Most importantly, she gave me the physical and mental strength to achieve the unmedicated birth I had hoped for, without an epidural. That is a gift I will never forget.
Postpartum. Gio rescued us in two critical moments after birth, and every tip she gave us truly worked. First, during the first two days home from the hospital, we could not settle our baby boy in the bassinet, while he was also cluster feeding constantly. We were exhausted. Gio came to our home and showed us simple soothing techniques that immediately worked—and we are still using them successfully now at week seven. Second, I was asked to triple feed: breastfeed, pump, and supplement with formula. It was overwhelming and exhausting for a new mom. Gio came again and helped me streamline the process, cutting feeding time nearly in half while creating a schedule that helped our baby regain weight quickly before week two and even surpass expectations. Just as importantly, it gave me back precious sleep and recovery time.
The photos she took beautifully captured the intimacy and emotion of our transition into parenthood. They will forever remind us of an experience made exceptional by Gio.
