There is no adequate way to truly thank Anna for her support during the birth of my third child (2nd vbac). Between her nursing experience and passion she coached me through a long labor to the beautiful birth of my son.
I appreciated Anna's home visits with our family. She was so patient with my other 2 kids running around. She took time to ask me thoughtful questions about my previous births and wishes for labor. It was helpful for me to share all my thoughts and fears outloud. This was my third birth and so I had lots of stories to share about my previous children. She was so patient and genuinely interested in hearing my stories. It was a good time for connection. She also took the time to teach me some exercises that I found to be helpful in preparing my body for labor. I also can't thank her enough for the encouragement in those final days before birth. I have days of prodromal labor that drive me crazy, but Anna kept me positive and I am so thankful!
Having Anna present for labor/birth was a true gift! Her medical and nursing experience gave me an added sense of ease that I had watchful eyes on me if anything went wrong. She kept me positive through a long labor by making suggestions for different positions, exercises and stretches. She made sure I was drinking enough water and going to the bathroom. Her massages helped take away the edge of contractions! She even decorated the room and bathroom for me to give me an extra sense of peace/homeyness. I was so thankful for her presence and encouragement. I was able to stay calm and positive through difficult contractions.
I almost didn't have a doula for this birth and I know now that would have been crazy. I am so so thankful to have had Anna's presence and support. Having her there made me feel relaxed and at ease. I attribute the calm environment and smoothness of my labor to her support. ?? A true blessing.
I know you too will be blessed to have Anna at your birth!
