I could not recommend Alyssa more highly. She made us feel at ease from our initial phone call, and we were immediately comfortable with her. During her visits to our home, she walked through every detail of our birth plan, surfaced helpful new ideas, and clearly explained the practical implications of different decisions. She also went through our nursery setup with us and helped us rearrange things into a much more functional layout.
During labor, Alyssa provided incredible support not only to me but also to my husband, making sure we both understood what was happening and what was normal versus what needed additional attention. At one point, I had an issue with my epidural line that required repair by the anesthesiologist. Knowing the delay it would take for the repaired line to take full effect, Alyssa suggested that the anesthesiologist could administer a direct bolus through the line to provide faster relief, something neither the nurse nor anesthesiologist had mentioned. When we asked, they were able to do it immediately, and it made a major difference in managing that part of labor.
Alyssa worked seamlessly with our labor nurse, and I truly felt like they formed a coordinated team supporting me through pushing. She encouraged me, advocated for me when needed, and provided steady reassurance throughout the entire process. I genuinely don’t think our experience would have been the same without her. I would recommend Alyssa without hesitation to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, calm, and deeply supportive doula.
