Wow wow wow! She was unreal. My delivery dream was a non-medicated home water birth using hypnobirthing practices. Long story short it ended 36 hrs later with 2 hospital visits, laughing gas, morphine, boofed Tylenol and an epidural. Ending finally in a c-section.
Fleur was there for the boofing of Tylenol holding my hand convincing me in my 20+hr delusional state to lube up lol. She was there for the 6am ferry ride to main island on 3 hrs of sleep and there the whole next day till pretty much the very end.
We only met her in person twice and mostly txts and email exchanges. She was my immediate fuck yes as a doula as soon as I met her after searching for quite some time for the right fit. She was comfortable, organized, present and calm. Comfortable in silence and easy to talk to. Physically offered relief during labor for hours and hours doing hip squeezes for me alternating with my partner.
My labor was a lot, and it all went the total opposite of any of our plans. Fleur doesnt have the most experience but she showed up in such a strong and warm way that she feels part of my life forever now. If someone can hold THAT experience for me in THAT way with a 'beginners' level experience. Exciting to see how they can show up for others. Shes on my team forever in my opinion.
