Starr is an absolute gem! I have had three births and three different doulas. Though the other women were lovely, Starr was by far the best! She is so caring, kind, attentive, and honestly a joy to have around! She is a bright light and a reassuring calm in one of the most intense moments of your life. She brings peace and quietness but also a strength and knowledge that is helpful beyond words. When you are in the thick of giving birth and making weighty decisions, these traits are what you want.
She took the time to help us navigate our birth plan and asked extremely insightful questions that we had not thought of (even though we had already done this a couple of times!) She was so thorough and professional.
On the day of our son's birth she was ready, attentive, and solely focused on our family. She did her best to help us stick with our birth plan, but as it happened we had an emergency where we had to deviate from it and move forward with the decision to have a c-section. She helped keep us peaceful, helped us understand things I may not have grasped otherwise, and really helped bring a quietness to both my husband and I when we needed it most. After the decision was made not to have a natural birth as we had planned, we had the best time waiting for the operation to take place. If we were to have a fourth, even though I will need a c-section I would still have her by our side – she was that helpful and instrumental to a successful birth.
If you are considering Starr, please do yourself a favor. My husband and I adore her and we are so thankful to have had her as our doula.
