Elisha was such an incredible help to me and my family and was able to assist us through crisis and also helped us process after the fact! I came down with HELLP syndrome, a life threatening obstetric condition, and had to be hospitalized and had an emergency cesarean for myself and my baby. Elisha, while her own house had flooding, came and kept us company for the birth and helped us through a very difficult and scary time with great emotional support and assistance with decision making. She was incredibly selfless and my husband deeply appreciated the extra presence and time spent.
I had spent most of my pregnancy preparing for a birth center birth and so I was very scared and worried for a c section, but Elisha's presence was incredibly calming!
Not only did she attend our birth, she also came to visit me in the hospital and checked on me throughout my stay. She is someone who also answered the phone for me at 3AM when I started feeling the sickness from HELLP, and I trusted her to be that comforting point of contact. She is someone you can rely on, who will check in with you, and has great consistency. I cannot recommend her enough!!
After the dust settled and I came home from the hospital, Elisha offered to come over (I live over 30 minutes away) and help us with whatever we might need. She is so incredibly kind, and has really made a profound impact on my birth experience. Even though my experience was highly unusual and medicalized, Elisha made sure I had support and care throughout my experience. I truly feel she is exemplary and wants to help others feel empowered in their birth experiences. Elisha helped me process my difficult birth, and supported me throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Her care and attentiveness are truly outstanding, and I hope that she can continue her journey as a doula because she was meant to be one!!
