We truly couldn't have asked for a better doula! The biggest impact for us was all the prep work Chrystal did ahead of time. It made such a difference going into labor feeling informed and confident instead of overwhelmed. She walked us through everything: pain management options, different labor positions, how my partner could support me, what pushing might look like, etc. It never felt rushed, and she always made sure we understood our options so we could make informed decisions. She also reminded me during birth about what my preferences were from our prep work, but never pressured me to make a decision one way or the other.
Chrystal is also an incredible resource. Anytime I had a question, she seemed to have the perfect article or a quick reference guide ready to go ,which was so helpful when I didn't know where to start.
Beyond that, she's just a genuinely kind and thoughtful person. Chrystal checked in often after birth and continued offering support in a way that felt natural and never overbearing. I truly enjoyed having her as part of our baby's birthday - not just as a doula, but as a friend during a really challenging time of life.
During the birth itself, she was also amazing - helping keep me comfortable, advocating for me, and translating what the doctors were saying so everything felt less overwhelming. One time we had a concern over baby's heartbeat, and she was able to explain the situation in a way that made a scary moment feel so much more manageable.
We are so thankful to have had Chrystal by our side for such a major life moment, and we would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!
