We chose Doula Jennifer to support us for our March 2026 baby and we can't say enough good things about our experience. From the first time we met with her over coffee to share about our birth needs and preferences and learn about her practice, we were impressed by her calming, supportive demeanor paired with her immense knowledge of the body that is informed by her deep medical background.
As curious and talkative first time parents-to-be we sought a doula that would bring balance to our energy and she did just that. As Asian-Americans, it was also important to us to find professional care that reflects our familial background and lived experience in an area where it may not be as easy to find.
Doula Jennifer provided the guidance and resources we needed during the final weeks of pregnancy for us to hone in on our birth plan and to feel confident going into this new territory. While laboring at home, we chose to work through early stages on our own as she checked in on progress and advised us on ways to help move labor along. After meeting us at our birth center, she jumped in to provide physical and emotional support -- giving us tools to work through contractions, reminders to use focusing techniques, and giving counter pressure and helping to move in different positions.
When our labor was forced to shift to the hospital, she gave the most important support of all, helping to ease our minds and talk us through the change during a scary and unexpected time. She stayed with us through the transfer and was there through the most difficult parts of labor until our beautiful baby girl arrived safely.
With Doula Jennifer, we made it to the finish line happy and healthy, and we consider her a vital part of a life changing time. Her continued support in the days after we got home were invaluable. We will always recommend her to other pregnant people and will be reaching out for our next baby as well.
