I have now had the privilege of having Jenn as my doula for both of my births, and without hesitation, I can say that choosing her was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
When I was pregnant with my first child, everything felt new. I didn’t just want support during labor—I wanted to feel prepared. Jenn has such a thoughtful, grounded way of explaining things that made me feel capable instead of intimidated.
My first labor was long. Labor stalled out at points and there were moments when I felt exhausted. We were asked to walk around the hospital two hours. Jenn was there for every single moment of it. With her guidance and encouragement, I was uable to give birth unmedicated.
After that experience, I knew I wanted Jenn for my second birth. My second labor could not have been more different—and yet, once again, Jenn was exactly what I needed. This time, things moved quickly, but because of how well she had prepared me the first time, I felt confident laboring at home for as long as possible. I wasn’t second-guessing every sensation or rushing to the hospital. I knew what my body was doing, and I trusted it.
One of the most meaningful aspects of having Jenn with us was how beautifully she worked alongside my husband. Birth is a lot for one person to carry the full weight of support. It allowed my husband to be deeply involved without feeling overwhelmed.
Beyond the births themselves, what truly sets Jenn apart is the kind of person she is. She doesn’t disappear after delivery. She checked in on me after both of my births, not just in a routine way, but in a genuinely caring, thoughtful way. Somewhere along the way, she stopped feeling like “just” my doula and became someone I deeply adore and consider a dear friend. That kind of connection is rare, and it speaks volumes about who she is.
