Helen Martin is an amazing doula and she made all of the difference in my pregnancy and birth experience.
Helen has such an easy going demeanor that made me and my partner feel so comfortable around her right away.
I informed her that one of my main focuses were helping my partner help me through the birth of our son. And she was really great at that once the time came. Supporting him and guiding him in aiding me.
Leading up to the birth of my son, Helen attended a birth class with us at BTC. The more prep work we did leading up to birth the more ready and confident I felt.
Helen was also always available for questions or concerns via text message my entire time with her. It was really reassuring.
In the thick of labor contractions and pain Helen was the one who was by my side and pulling me back to earth and reminding me to breathe through them. I am so greatful she was there to guide me and support me. I felt so safe and reasurred having her there.
We ended up having to go to the hospital because of complications and Helen advocated for my wishes even when I was so tired and worn out she reminded me of how far I had come and reminded me of what I wanted and why I wanted it. I am forever grateful to her for that.
I personally struggle with trusting people to look after my son postpartum. A lot of trust was formed for me through birthing with Helen and I felt completely safe to have her watch my son later when Helen came to visit us for our in home postpartum visits.
I Highly recommend Helen Martin as a doula. I plan to have her as a doula with all of my future children. She prepared me, she supported me and she advocated for me in the hospital making sure i was informed and heard.
