Kate was my doula for the birth of my fourth child in March 2026. I really enjoyed working with Kate, it helped that she has five children of her own and could speak about her own experiences with pregnancy and delivery. Kate supported me a lot in my final weeks of pregnancy and coached me through a number of false alarms, which I hadn't experienced in my previous pregnancies. During active labor she helped support me through contractions with positions, counter pressure, abdominal lift and tuck, figure 8s, massage, positive affirmations, distractions, etc. I appreciated how she was a supportive presence but wasn't pushy or judgemental, and she was also very respectful of our cultural and religious traditions and preferences. I labored for a long time but dilation didn't progress past 5/6 cm and I opted for induction a week early and eventually an epidural in the end, and Kate supported my decisions throughout. During our post partum visit she gave me a full body massage which was really rejuvenating!
