Jackie was our doula for the births of our last two children—first in 2021 and most recently in February 2026. After having a less-than-positive experience with a doula during my first birth in 2019, I was looking for a new team.
I reached out to District Doulas and immediately felt that both Jackie and Michele would be a great fit. Jackie ended up being on call for my birth, and I am so grateful she was. She brought such a calm, steady presence and always seemed to know exactly what was needed in each moment.
During my 2021 birth, my water broke early, so there was a limited window of time to deliver. Jackie played a crucial role in helping labor progress—guiding me through effective comfort measures and positioning that kept things moving and ultimately allowed my OB-GYN to feel confident not intervening.
My second birth with Jackie was just as positive. She again created a calm, supportive environment and used techniques that helped me achieve the natural birth I had hoped for. It truly was the experience I had envisioned.
Jackie also worked seamlessly with my doctors both times, which made a huge difference. Even my husband—who was initially hesitant about having a doula—became a strong advocate after seeing the impact she had. After our first experience, he fully supported working with Jackie again.
