I reached out to Leah early on in my second pregnancy after having experienced an urgent c-section with my first baby. I was cautiously optimistic about having a VBAC, and I wanted to do everything I could to support this goal. From our very first meeting, I felt this sense of understanding and empathy from Leah surrounding my first birth experience and my hopes/fears about my second birth. Her understanding of anatomy, the baby’s role in birth, and her additional education in Spinning Babies techniques gave me so much confidence in my decision to work with her. Throughout my pregnancy, and as I neared my due date, Leah was such a source of support. The Hypnobirthing education she provided was invaluable as I learned to build trust in my body. I experienced several rounds of stop/start labor in the weeks leading up to my baby’s birth date, and Leah was such a grounding voice of calm, reminding me again and again that I can trust my body and my baby. When I was in labor, my baby kept returning to an OP position, and he was not descending (which were both contributing factors in my first baby’s birth via c-section). I truly credit her wisdom and intuition in these moments to me being able to have a VBAC. She was able to coach me through different positions to support my baby’s engagement based on which station he was at. He was born via vaginal delivery just a few hours later. Leah's support during my pregnancy, labor, and birth was invaluable, I’d recommend her as a doula and birth educator without hesitation. I’m so grateful to have had the experience to work with Leah!
