Ema helped us so much during the birth of our son at Vanderbilt Birth Center. The preparation and communication she provided leading up to it were so beneficial, and I always felt like I could go to her with any questions or concerns. I went into labor on 9/19 late in the evening and then went to the birth center the following morning. Ema met us there and stayed with us until our son was born on 9/21 at 2 am! She never left my side, and she really helped show my husband how to support me. I had excruciating back labor the entire time, and I truly believe I wouldn't have been able to do it unmedicated without her there. She is passionate, empathetic, and truly an expert in all things birth and postpartum. We want to hire her again as our doula when we're ready to have another child.
