I would highly recommend Shannon with Nurturing Roots Doula. We worked with Shannon as our birth doula and truly had an exceptional experience. From our initial visit when I was 32 weeks pregnant to our final visit about three weeks postpartum, Shannon was a knowledgeable, supportive and truly essential part of our experience. I am admittedly pretty particular, and Shannon's calm, focused and attentive energy combined with her vast and deep knowledge base was the perfect combination in someone who walks with you through the wild and amazing journey of childbirth. Our birth vastly deviated from the plan and Shannon was such an essential part in supporting my empowerment and agency over making decisions. We (me, my husband, and Shannon) operated in concert to pause and evaluate before collaborating with the medical team and moving forward with interventions, and ultimately this led to a birth story I am proud to share. Above all, I just want to convey how much trust we put in Shannon and how this led to better birth outcomes and an experience that we were holistically supported by her. I honestly can't imagine doing this without her, and will recommend Shannon to anyone considering a birth doula.
