In retrospect, we are so thankful we had Kate to guide us during labor and delivery! Her presence made my experience so much better than it would have been otherwise, and I absolutely recommend her services.
We couldn't decide whether we were going to hire a doula, and therefore reached out to Kate pretty late in the pregnancy. As a result our in-person prenatal meeting was planned for right around week 38, but I went into labor a few days before that. Kate was amazing to move around her schedule and meet us in the hospital the morning after my labor started. As it happens, the pain starts to build before you're deemed enough in "active labor" to warrant oversight, so Kate's presence was invaluable to us as first time parents to help guide us through. While there is no proof, I believe that Kate helped flip my baby from "sunny side up" to the proper anterior position since after a set of position changes my back labor receded and contractions were able to progress afterwards. She was able to recommend different positions throughout labor, help me think through choices and options, and help me understand what was happening and what was normal/expected. Near the end of labor, Kate was able to suggest some positions which seemed to "speed up" my labor progress after a stall. Overall, I am very glad we had her support!
