I feel so lucky to have had Sheilena as my doula. From the very beginning, she was incredibly professional, responsive, and patient. During our initial conversations and prenatal Zoom sessions, she took the time to answer all of my questions — even the most random ones — with genuine care and respect. As a first-time mom, that meant so much to me.
When my water broke in the middle of the night, Sheilena stayed in close contact with me over text the entire time. Even while she was on duty, she proactively looped in her backup doulas, who were all equally reliable and supportive. Together, they reassured me, helped me assess my situation, and guided me on when it was appropriate to rest at home and when to communicate with my medical team about pain management.
Despite having attended multiple births and likely being exhausted, Sheilena showed up fully present for me before I received my epidural. She helped prepare a bath and spent hours providing hands-on support and massage to ease my pain — something I will never forget.
During labor, she continued to advocate for me and communicate my needs clearly with the medical staff, especially when I was feeling nauseous from Pitocin. Her emotional support, reassurance, and attentiveness made such a difference in helping me feel safe and cared for.
As a beautiful final touch, she shared so many precious photos from the birth — memories that I will cherish forever.
Overall, I’m deeply grateful for her presence and support throughout my birth experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula.
