Where do I start?! From not knowing much about what a doula is… to being matched with a doula who is full of positive energy, informative, patient, and kind.
I believe my experience was a breeze because of Leticia Wescott (also known as: Sister Ann) and her support.
As a first-time mom, there were a lot of things I didn’t know especially the night I went into labor and not knowing the difference between Braxton Hicks and actual contractions. Thankfully, Sister Ann was always available via text or phone. She literally walked me through those contractions, providing support every step of the way.
She not only supported me, but also helped comfort my relatives when they felt uneasy, bringing them reassurance during such an intense moment.
When she was informed that I was admitted to the hospital and that my water broke, in the blink of an eye she was right by my side…with her fan and her exercise ball.
Prior to that moment, she attended appointments with me and even offered companionship for walks, as we all know exercising helps during pregnancy.
Even after it all and birthing a beautiful baby girl, we still keep in contact.
If I’ve never said it before, my doula Leticia Wescott is greatly appreciated!
