Choosing Dominica as my doula for my first birth was one of the best decisions I made. Going into it, I knew I wanted as natural of an experience as possible, but I also didn’t fully know what to expect. Having her there gave me a sense of confidence and support that I really needed.
My labor ended up being much longer and more difficult than I had anticipated, lasting over two days. Even when things didn’t go according to plan, Dominica never left my side. She showed up with so much patience and steadiness, supporting both me and my husband and helping guide us through each stage of labor.
What meant the most to me was how consistent and present she was. Whether it was offering encouragement, helping me stay focused, or just being there in the quiet moments, she brought a calm, steady energy that helped us get through parts of labor that felt overwhelming.
Her support didn’t stop after the birth. During my postpartum visits, she helped ease the transition into those early weeks of motherhood, which can be such a vulnerable time. She made incredibly nourishing meals, checked in on how I was doing, and helped create a sense of calm in our home.
She also had such a natural way with our baby. Even after a tough delivery, our baby responded so well to her. He would settle quickly in her arms, which gave me a lot of comfort and reassurance.
Dominica brings a level of care and intention to her work that you can really feel. I’m so thankful I had her with me through this experience and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for genuine, hands on support during birth and postpartum.
