This was the second time we hired Chris as a birth doula, and I honestly can’t imagine being pregnant or having a baby without her there! Throughout pregnancy, she offers vast knowledge and many resources, ranging from nutrition and exercise to weening an older child to sleep strategies, and everything in between! Having Chris on your team is really like having a special aunt to ask advice from, on all things baby or family related.
Labor went so smoothly and quickly this time around that Chris’s biggest role that day was taking care of us in the little things-putting essential oil in my bath water, making sure my husband had snacks, providing privacy when we wanted it, making me tea after our son was born, and helping me to be as comfortable as possible. She was especially helpful with early breastfeeding, even though everyone else told me I was an experienced mom and knew what I was doing. Having Chris on our birth team gave both my husband and I such peace of mind that we would recommend her to anyone and everyone! We knew we would be well taken care of, so we could focus on meeting our new little one!
