Justine and her team at Midwest Doulas were my doulas for both of my pregnancies. Justine attended the birth of my son this past December, and I was so grateful to have her in the room with me. Because of her extensive experience in the Twin Cities, she has so much knowledge about birthplaces and providers. She had a great working relationship with my Midwife and the staff at Abbott Mother Baby Center where I gave birth. With her guidance, I was able to have an unmedicated water birth. She guided me through choices about interventions like whether to have the Midwife break my water when I was 9 cm dilated (it was tough to think straight at tha point!) She also encouraged me to ask for some of the things I wanted, but was unsure how to advocate for like being the one to catch my baby and bring him up out of the water and having him find & attached to my nipple unassisted for the first time. Justine is wise, kind, fierce, knowledgeable, & was an incredible advocate for my family. I highly recommend Midwest Doulas for anyone birthing in the Twin Cities area. If I were having a third baby, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!
