Dear Lauren,
Once again, I am incredibly sorry for what happened when you gave birth on January 24, 2022. I am so sorry that it is something that has stuck with you. It’s an experience that still haunts me to this day as well. I so enjoyed meeting you and supporting you and your family and was looking forward to attending your birth. I was completely devastated by what happened.
I can’t go far enough back to review the call timestamps, but I did review our text exchanges. While you are MORE than entitled to feel what you feel, there are statements that you made that quite simply are completely inaccurate.
While I did not make it to the birth, to say that there was “No call. No text” until “nearly almost 12+ ish hours later” is quite simply false. To say that I never showed empathy is also quite simply false.
At 11:50am you told me that you were at L&D triage.
At 12:42pm you said, “Nurses say you can come now.”
At 2:56pm you said, “Just popped him out! Text you in a bit”
At 3:02pm, 6 MINUTES LATER (not 12+ hours later), I replied, “Oh my goodness!! Congratulations!!! ???? I’m so so sorry I missed your earlier messages ?? I have no idea what the f*** happened and how I missed your previous messages and calls. That has never happened to me before. I’m so incredibly sorry. Can’t wait to hear more…and again, I’m so sorry”. I didn’t want to call you because you had literally said that you “just popped him out.”
I sobbed and immediately sent a refund.
