Having Meg, our doula, with us through our birth experience helped us achieve our dream birth. After loss, I was desperately seeking to connect with my body again. We hired a doula to have extra support on our path to have an unmedicated, low intervention birth. During the pregnancy, Meg's steadiness, birth knowledge, and compassion boosted my confidence in my body and in our birth plan. We always felt great after a meeting with our doula. And during the birth, she was an indispensable team member. Not only did she help us with tools to help labor progress, such as positioning exercises and contraction coping techniques; Meg's reliable and encouraging presence helped me let go of more thoughts or worries, and really commit to being in "labor space". I believe our choice to hire a doula resulted in a shorter labor and a healing birth experience. We are so grateful for our doula and would hire Meg again!
