We had Rachelle as our sibling doula for our toddler and postpartum doula for our second child. We are a military family so did not yet have the support system in place. We had a home birth and wanted a very strong support team. Rachelle was beyond perfect – having had a traumatic delivery the first time around we are so grateful we had Rachelle this time and cannot imagine another birth experience without her. As a sibling doula: Rachelle was amazing for giving us reassurance and support during labor (she was the first person to arrive coming the farthest away!). She was absolutely fantastic during and after baby came as she stayed with our toddler for a day to make sure we got through delivery, got rest, and bonding time. Our toddler had so much fun and still remembers her. Rachelle was also so helpful in helping us introduce our two children in such a beautiful way. As a postpartum doula: My husband was deployed 3 weeks after our baby was born. So Rachelle stayed with us throughout the deployment, checking in and helping in so many ways. She is so knowledgeable about postpartum, from tearing to hemorrhoids to D-MER. Just a repository of knowledge wrapped up in such a kind, empathetic person. She came to every session ready to help however we needed it, even just listening to me talk! It felt like a time when our family was fractured and sad because my husband was across the world. Having Rachelle’s consistent presence was an anchor that support is here, we’re not doing this alone. Next baby: We are expecting our third baby and are having Rachelle as our doula again! She’ll be our labor and postpartum doula – we love her so much! Knowing she will be with us every step of the way gives us so much confidence that we will have her care, comfort, wisdom, and advocacy right by our side as we embark on becoming a family of 5!
