Erin is absolutely wonderful at what she does. From the moment we met Erin, my husband and I felt so comfortable and confident that she would have a positive impact in our (well, my, mostly!) birth story. I am a second time mom who was going for a VBAC and was nervous and unsure of whether that would happen. Erin gave me strength and confidence that I was capable, and also peace of mind that if it didn't happen, everything would still be ok. Leading up to my due date, Erin was available and responsive to questions outside of our set meeting times.
During my labour and delivery, she was there for us in ways we didn't know we needed. Even the simplest things like bringing juice and water for both of us so we could feel good and focus on bringing my son into the world made such a difference compared to my last delivery. She always knew what to say to reassure me and boost my confidence when I didn't think I was capable of continuing on. She helped me come back down to earth when things got intense and helped to keep the energy in the room positive. The cues she gave me for pushing are 100% the reason I didn't push for hours and hours. She advocated for me when needed and I got my golden hour with my son after his birth. She also took some incredible photos :)
My husband and I are so grateful to have had Erin on our team for this experience. It was a very redeeming and positive birth experience after a more traumatizing experience last time, and I firmly believe she played a major role in that. Her breastfeeding support also majorly helped with that first important latch and I continued to receive support for a month or so afterwards as well leading to what has been a successful breastfeeding journey thus far.
