Working with Amanda was by far one of the best decisions I made for this pregnanacy. From day 1, she went above and beyond when it came to prenatal care, labor, delivery and postpartum. My first son ended in an emergency c-section that had lasting impacts on both my mental and physical health. While I had a beautiful and healthy baby, I couldn't shake how the experience was nothing like what I had wanted. I knew this time I wanted support not only for a better understanding of the process and expectations but to help remove some of the fear I was going into my second pregnancy with.
From the day we started working together I felt heard, supported and motivated. My birth experience was night and day from my first. From tranforming my room into a relaxed space with fairy lights, essential oils and music to providing my husband and I with tools and techniques to navigate labor and delivery I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Her presence was grounding and reassuring, for the both of us.
She was an incredible advocate for me. She helped ensure my voice was heard as we discussed interventions, that my preferences were respected, and that I felt informed every step of the way. I never felt alone in the process and I never felt pressured.
Amanda's thoughtful and support care continued into postpartum. Always checking in, finding little ways to make my life easier and even spoiling both my boys. If you are considering a doula, I cannot recommend her enough. She exceeded every expectation I had and helped make my birth experience something I will always look back on with so much gratitude.
