Having Renee as our Doula was an incredible gift to us during my pregnancy and home birth. My husband and I had zero idea what a doula even did at first, but we quickly realized how essential Renee would be on our journey. The appointments leading up to the birth gave me so much peace of mind. Renee took the time to walk us through all of our options and helped us understand the many directions birth can take. We did a ton of fun activities that truly melted my fear of birth away by the time the big day came. Because of her guidance, I felt prepared — not in the sense that everything would go exactly as planned, but in knowing that whatever happened wouldn’t come as a complete shock. It was a very empowering experience.
When I went into labor late at night, I was honestly taken aback by how intense the contractions were for me right from the start. As soon as Renee arrived at our house, just having her there immediately made me feel calmer and more supported. Labor itself was a blur, but I vividly remember her soothing me, rubbing my back, and counting breaths with me for god knows how many hours. She's a saint.
I am forever grateful for Renee's kindness, her tender care, and for all the knowledge and confidence she gave both my husband and me throughout the entire experience. We truly couldn’t have imagined going through this without her.
