Aja was one of the greatest blessings of my pregnancy and birth experience. As a first-time mom who wanted a natural, unmedicated birth but had fears about labor, finding the right doula felt incredibly important. After interviewing several doulas, we chose Aja because of her positive energy, calming presence, and deep experience supporting natural birth. During prenatal sessions, Aja used the Body Ready Method to help me prepare physically for labor while also helping me mentally and emotionally. We discussed my fears, birth plan expectations, and medical terminology so I could approach birth with confidence. A special part of preparation was hypnobirthing. Aja created a custom hypnobirthing audio track that I listened to almost daily, both before birth and during labor. It became a grounding tool during intense moments. She also led a guided breath session for my partner and me that helped us release tension and find calmness before welcoming our baby. During labor, Aja remained a steady, calming presence. She provided hands-on support with counterpressure and various positions, which helped me manage contractions. When I was exhausted and briefly considered an epidural, she reminded me of my goal and encouraged me to try other tools first. With her support, I delivered my son naturally without interventions. She also supported my partner so he felt confident and involved. Lastly, she helped with lactation support, resources, newborn care, and companionship during the early postpartum weeks. I truly cannot imagine this journey without her. We will absolutely want Aja by our side again if we have another child.
