We honestly can't say enough about how wondeful Michele was. The lead up to our birth was really great—Michele and the whole District Doulas crew were so helpful and reassuring in the months before our son was born, giving us context and arming us with info. about what to expect, how to approach the process, and whatever else we asked about. This was our first baby and, like most first-time parents, we were excited but also stressed. Needless to say, things got even crazier when mama's water broke six weeks early and we were rushing to the hospital unsure of what the hell would come next. Michele was right there coaching us through the next few hours—and, despite the very late hour—showed up that night when labor really got tough. With all the unexpected factors innvovled, we weren't sure what to do with the epidural or how to pace that first night, but Michele was was an absolute pro—and just so supportive and calming—fully present for whatever we needed right up through the birth. The baby came the next day healthy as could be, and we were only in the NICU for a few days after that. Michele's postnatal home visit was also really valuable and helpful. We honeslty couldn't recommend her enough—she knew exactly what we needed, is the real deal, and we'd use her again in a heartbeat.
