We had our first baby boy back in December, and are super grateful that we had Stephanie as part of our journey. As a first time mom, my biggest fear was just the unknown of how labor was going to be and the pain. Also I didn’t know what to wish for truly because reading all these online / social media sources with conflicting information just gave me a massive headache.
Stephanie provided a single source of advice backed by evidence based sources, talked through all my concerns, and walked me through what to expect through each phase. Through labor she was with us every single moment, and I had a LONG labor that ultimately led to a C-section because my baby was too big. Having her be our advocate at the hospital was SO helpful, and a true source of comfort for both me and my husband. Your hospital care can depend on which doctor / nurse is on call and they rotate shifts frequently. Stephanie helped us process all the information and talk to the doctor / nurses for us also. Postpartum, Stephanie also came to help us with nursing and general postpartum baby questions / concerns.
Having Stephanie as our doula is like having a friend and coach for your birth journey all in one. We are so happy Stephanie was our doula, and would highly recommend her to anyone!
