At the beginning of my pregnancy I knew that finding a doula was at the top of my priority list. Being high risk with a history of complex medical issues, my husband and I really wanted a well educated and experienced person to support us through all of these exciting (and sometimes scary) firsts. We knew from the moment we met Sharon that she would be the perfect person to have with us through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum as new parents. We really wanted a doula who was evidence based and knowledgeable on both the medical and the physiological aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. Someone who could help us make informed decisions, ground us in moments of uncertainty, and answer all of my first time mom questions (of which there were many). Sharon offered all of that and more! She is so thoughtful, caring, and personable. It truly felt like having a close friend there to support us through one of the craziest times of our lives. She rolled with every change to our plans, supported me through all of my high risk complications, kept me informed and able to make the best decisions for myself and my baby, and made sure my husband was included and equipped to be the support partner I needed and that he wanted to be. Even with changes to our birth plan and other aspects of pregnancy that were out of our control - I truly loved my pregnancy and labor experience! Sharon made our hospital room so cozy, cute, and relaxing. I felt so at peace the whole time I labored and I know it was because Sharon prepared and supported us so well! We now consider Sharon to be a great friend to us and we’re glad our relationship didn’t end after having our son. I couldn’t be more thankful and appreciative to her for getting us through pregnancy, childbirth, and sleep training. This first year as new parents would not have been the same without her care and support!
