I highly recommend Sheyda as a doula. She is warm, easy to talk to, incredibly thoughtful, and has a wonderful calm energy. Sheyda supported us as the birth doula for our son’s recent arrival. Although this was my third birth, it was my first time hiring a doula, and I really didn’t know what to expect. We recently moved to NYC and don’t have many close friends or family here so I wanted to make sure I had another person to support me through the birth process. I’m so grateful we chose to work with Sheyda.
During our prenatal visits, she helped us thoughtfully work through parts of our labor plan that we had been struggling with and helped us develop a clear plan. When the time came everything fell into place so easily and smoothly. Throughout the labor, she was attentive, always making sure I had what I needed and creating the environment I wanted. The postpartum visits were wonderful— she made a nourishing postpartum tea, cooked us dinner, folded laundry, helped me with breastfeeding positioning, and took time to process the birth experience with me. I felt cared for and supported throughout my time working with her.
