The process to being matched to a doula with Doula Love PDX was easy and very complimentary of my needs at a critical time in my pregnancy and maternity journey. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I received a response and recommendations for doulas to interview upon sharing my preferences and needs. Additionally it was a relief to see my needs for cultural competence, holistic healing, and bilingual communication honored and prioritized. I can't say enough how much of a difference working with my doula, Alejandra made on a mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical level. It was so easeful when Alejandra did house visits before hand to prepare together for the birth and her guidance and care was beyond what I dreamed of. She educated and resourced me in such a tender, consistent way and helped me move beyond fear and worry in powerful yet simple ways. During my birth I experienced complications in which Alejandra played a critical role as my protector, caregiver, empowerer, and solace bringer. I am forever grateful for our partnership and the exceptional love and support I received as a result before, during, and immediately after birth.
