Across both births, one long and one very short, Christie was the steady presence we needed. During our first hospital birth, when labor stalled and we were stuck at 9cm for a long stretch, she helped us understand where we were, what options we had, and what we could do to help things move along while providing comfort for any back pain and exhaustion. She helped us make sense of the concerns of the healthcare team, what they were urging, and gave us ideas on how we could stay aligned with our birth plan. For our second birth, her recommendations for preparation and guidance beforehand made all the difference. We walked (ran) in the hospital feeling confident and ready. When things started to move quickly at home, she was right there supporting us. For both births she was a huge support for papa, serving as a calm and knowledgeable second set of hands when it mattered most. Shortly after each birth, she stopped by for a home visit to check in with the entire family and brought a wealth of knowledge and resources if we needed anything. Christie is empowering, knowledgeable, and dependable, truly everything we could have hoped for and more.
