We hired Liza as our birth doula because we wanted as much support as possible for an unmedicated birth. She was an incredible support throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, helping us feel confident navigating our first pregnancy and childbirth.
Liza scheduled prenatal appointments to understand our reasons for choosing an unmedicated birth and to help set expectations for the labor process. She also supported my partner by guiding him on how to help me during contractions, which made it easier for us to manage labor at home and continue that support once she arrived.
On the day of delivery, Liza came to the hospital as soon as my admission was confirmed and immediately helped me get comfortable by offering a TENS unit. As labor progressed, she provided massages and suggested different labor positions to help manage pain. She made me feel safe and supported throughout the process, especially during the most intense moments. She also decorated the room with beautiful string lights and took photos of our baby’s first hours, which we deeply treasure.
The postpartum visits were also extremely helpful. Liza showed us techniques to relieve gas for our baby, assisted with babywearing, taught me different breastfeeding positions, and emphasized the importance of rest for my recovery.
We would highly recommend Liza as a birth doula to any expecting family.
