Working with Julia as our doula and Bradley teacher made us feel 100% prepared for the birth of our first child. We felt very confident after following her classes and getting her hands-on support every step of the way, from developing a birth plan up to starting breastfeeding. The classes covered everything we needed to know and Julia also shared many other resources we needed to be able to advocate for ourselves. While we were taking Bradley classes and were working our way through our birth plan, my husband and I decided to change OB/GYN office to have the birth experience we wanted. Something we would not have considered if not given much thought. The classes were also taught online which meant we could join the sessions, even if we were out of town.
Her calm but steady presence during labor made all the difference. Even in intense moments, I felt so grounded and supported. She helped me stay connected to my body and reminded me of my strength which is exactly what I needed at the time. Julia’s Bradley classes and doula support also helped my husband feel confident in his ability to support me throughout my pregnancy and delivery. Without her, I think we would have felt more overwhelmed and unsure. With Julia by our side, we felt much better prepared, supported, and strong. That really meant everything to us!
