I had a difficult pregnancy and from our first interaction Jaya made me feel seen, validated, and supported. She had firsthand experience with some of the complications I was facing in my pregnancy and was able to provide me with valuable guidance on how I could navigate them. As birth approached I felt much calmer knowing that she would be with me every step of the way and throughout my relatively long and somewhat complicated labor she was a critical source of knowledge and care that helped me navigate the medical system (as I gave birth in a hospital) with confidence and ease, which is a challenge for me. I don't know what I would have done without her and highly recommend her as a birth doula. We also continued to work with Jaya postpartum and her support was essential during the first several weeks of our son's life. All of her postpartum support was extremely helpful but in particular we found the overnight support to be a godsend that helped us get some rest while I was recovering from birth and my partner and I were both adjusting to life as parents. We felt fully confident and comfortable leaving our son with her overnight and were able to rest with ease. She helped us gain confidence and skills in caring for our newborn and also provided some much needed breaks. Overall, we had a great experience working with Jaya and would recommend her to anyone looking for doula support in the western Washington area.
