Kathie is an INCREDIBLY talented doula! I was referred to her by a friend just after finding out about my second pregnancy. I had a lot of lingering fears after a rather difficult experience with the birth of my firstborn, and needed help forming a new birth team. She helped me find an excellent OB who respects natural, low-intervention birth, and referred me to skilled body workers for my aches and pains. In the final weeks of pregnancy, my family had some very unexpected challenges arise and she helped me ground myself through these trials, all the way through my son's birth. In the delivery room, she encouraged me through the contractions with the perfect balance of truth telling and gentleness, and empowered me to stand my ground on my birth plan when hospital staff got a bit pushy. She is a highly knowledgeable woman with the right spirit and disposition for the labor environment. I was hesitant to hire another doula after my first birth experience and I am so, so grateful we got connected. Kathie helped walk me through a birth experience that ended up being so redemptive and empowering, I will always be so grateful for that. I hope to have her help me birth more babies in the future!
