We absolutely loved working with Jen and Lone Star Birth for our delivery in May. The classes were so informative, going over every option available to us. Whether we wanted to go without medication, with medication, or if a c-section was necessary. It made us feel prepared going into delivery no matter what happened.
On the day of our birth, Jen came to our home and helped me labor using a variety of tools for pain management. She made sure I was eating and drinking regularly. She coached my husband on how to comfort me. She made sure he was resting as much as possible, too. She let us know when we should head to the hospital and followed in her car. Once we got there, she stayed through shift changes and made sure the new set of nurses were aware of our wishes for delivery. She was our voice and our steady hand throughout the whole process. Once I delivered, she helped me with breastfeeding and our first latch. It was so fast and easy. She made sure we had the experience we wanted. Jen and her team are worth their weight in gold and we have told everyone who is having a baby to get a doula because of our experience. Thank you, Jen!
