As first timers, we felt we would benefit from having someone with a lot of experience and who didn't mind answering a lot of "silly" questions. Maggie was so patient and so supportive throughout the entire process and beyond. Our birth story didn't go as planned, but having Maggie there to help us through all of the changes was such a gift. We felt the experience was smoother, predictable, and pleasant because of the support Maggie provided.
Another thing we really appreciated was during the down times when were waiting, it would be very easy to assume the worst or to feel like you didn't know what to ask or if it is okay to ask for something. Maggie was able to provide good things to think about or clarifying questions to ask. When times were slow, it was great to have a distraction. Maggie provides support in ways we didn't even think about initially. She was a nice teammate to have in the room!
