Wow... where do I start with how amazing our experience was with Lauralee. From my first phone call, I felt seen, heard and supported. I had a very traumatic postpartum after my first birth and Lauralee confirmed and validated everything I went thru and then continued to check in on me throughout my pregnancy (while she was also giving birth herself!) to ease my stress and help me to make sure I was mentally and physically prepared for my second birth. Well, as life would sometimes have it, my so desired home birth ended up at the hospital after 2 days of labor since I was not dialating. Lauralee transferred with me, where I tried to labor naturally for another 1.5 days until giving up and asking for an epidural. Lauralee stayed with me the entire time (almost 2 full days!!), making sure the doctors and nurses were treating me with their utmost care and advising me on the best decisions for my baby and I. She helped me into positions to ease my labor pains and spoke on my behalf to doctors and nurses while I was contracting to let me focus on breathing and working thru my contractions. While the end result of my birth ended up in a C-section after almost 4.5 days of labor, I was the most at ease and had a much easier postpartum recovery than my first (where I didn't labor at all). I credit a lot of that to Lauralee keeping me calm and making me feel supported at all times.
No matter what type of birth you plan, having a doula like Lauralee with you will undoubtably make things so much less stressful for you so you can focus on yourself and giving birth. I honestly can't say enough about how much we love Lauralee!!
