Elyse was genuinely a lifesaver. I was induced at 41 weeks, and ended up in labor for over 20 hours. Elyse was with us for more than 12. My baby's heartrate kept dipping with every contraction, and Elyse figured out positions that would work for the baby, work for me, keep his heart rate up, and help get him into position. At one point, she then physically held me in a position that he could tolerate for over an hour. We never would have been able to figure any of that on our own. She was also my medical translator, helping to explain what the doctors were saying and telling me how things fit into the birth plan we had set out with her. Not to mention, she was just lovely to have in the room! It was so nice to carry on a conversation, or at least to listen to her and my husband have a conversation, to keep my mind off things. Postpartum, she's been available for phone calls and texts as I've had questions, and connected me with a lactation consultant when I needed it. I can't recommend Elyse enough, and I've been singing her praises to all my pregnant friends!
