I am so so thankful for The Birth Collective and even months later still think back on all their help they provided before birth, during, and postpartum. I initially reached out to schedule an interview and was worried I was at the tail end of being able to get a good doula since not many had availability. Sarah was super prompt in messaging me and got me booked for an interview so quickly I felt it was already a good sign.
i had the prenatal appt with Sarah, Bree, and Austin and felt a lot more confident about giving birth after that appt. I also felt that no matter which doula I got at birth I'd be in good hands which I feel like is rare in a group of 3+ doulas you may have a reason or 2 to hope you don't get one of the 3 but that wasn't the case with them! They all seem very knowledgeable, kind, and supportive, and they have a great sense of humor. What more could you want?
They all gave advice during the prenatal time and helped advise me on questions to ask my doctors when one was recommending induction. I decided against induction and felt confident thanks to the Birth Collective.
Doula Bree was assigned to my birth and I felt so at peace with her presence there. I wasn't a fan of the OB or nurse assigned to me and know I would've felt much more anxious about birth without Bree there. She was very informative, helped advocate for me, and helped me get into positions so my baby would descend. If the baby didn't descend as quickly the OB was recommending c-section but thanks to Bree we avoided that. She also stayed after birth to make sure I knew how the next couple weeks would look and gave me so many tips I hadn't heard yet. I am forever thankful for her help and truly think without her help I wouldn't be looking back on my birth as such a positive experience.
